Realistic mock exams for every major VCE subject — helping Year 11 & 12 students build confidence and maximise their ATAR
Year 11–12 (Age 16–18)
7 Sections
870 minutes
Paper-based end-of-year exams
Compulsory for all VCE students. Choose your stream: English, English Language, EAL (English as an Additional Language), or Literature. Section A: Analytical interpretation of a text. Section B: Comparative analysis of two texts. Section C: Analysis of argument and persuasive language. Each section requires extended written responses — strong essay technique is essential.
Choose from Mathematical Methods, Specialist Mathematics, or General/Further Mathematics. Methods & Specialist exams have two papers: Paper 1 is technology-free (no calculator allowed, 60 min) and Paper 2 is technology-active (CAS calculator permitted, 120 min). General/Further Maths has a single 2-hour paper. Topics include calculus, probability, statistics, algebra, vectors, and data analysis depending on the subject.
Choose from Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Psychology, or Environmental Science. Each exam includes multiple question types: multiple choice (20–30 marks), short-answer questions requiring calculations or explanations, extended-response questions (5–10 marks each), and data analysis tasks based on experimental results. Physics and Chemistry heavily test mathematical problem-solving. Biology and Psychology emphasise case studies and research methodology.
Choose from History (Revolutions), Economics, Business Management, Legal Studies, Geography, Politics, Sociology, or Philosophy. Exam formats vary by subject: History requires essay-length responses analysing revolutions and source documents. Economics and Business Management include short-answer data interpretation plus extended essays. Legal Studies combines case analysis with structured legal reasoning. Most subjects have 2–3 sections with a mix of short and extended responses.
Choose from Visual Arts, Studio Arts, Media, Music Performance/Investigation, or Theatre Studies. Visual Arts and Studio Arts require analytical interpretation of artworks and creative process documentation. Media examines media texts, production, and audience analysis. Music includes aural analysis and performance evaluation. Theatre Studies involves analysis of productions, performance styles, and stagecraft. All subjects combine analytical writing with subject-specific creative or technical knowledge.
Choose from Computing (Algorithmics/Software Development), Food Technology, Systems Engineering, or Product Design & Technology. Computing exams test algorithm design, data structures, cybersecurity, and software development methodology. Food Technology covers food science, product development, and industry practices. Systems Engineering involves mechanical and electronic system analysis. Product Design tests design processes, materials science, and manufacturing methods. All include a mix of short-answer and design-based problem-solving questions.
Choose from Health & Human Development, Physical Education, or Outdoor & Environmental Studies. Health & Human Dev covers Australia's health system, global health issues, and human development across the lifespan. Physical Education tests biomechanics, exercise physiology, skill acquisition, and sports psychology with data interpretation tasks. Outdoor & Environmental Studies examines relationships between humans and outdoor environments. All subjects combine multiple-choice, short-answer, and extended-response questions requiring case study analysis.

Year 11 packs build exam technique early; Year 12 packs focus on the ATAR-counted end-of-year format
It's simple: if your child is in Year 11, choose a Year 11 (Units 1 & 2) pack. If they're in Year 12, choose a Year 12 (Units 3 & 4) pack. Year 12 exams count toward the ATAR, so they're the most important. If your child has time across both years, the Combo packs give you the best value.
