How are WACE results calculated?
WACE Specialist Mathematics combines 50% school assessment (moderated by SCSA) and 50% SCSA external exam for a course score, then scaled by TISC for ATAR.
What is moderation?
SCSA moderates school marks against external exam results to ensure fairness across all WA schools. If a school's internal marks are much higher than external performance, marks may be scaled down.
How is WACE ATAR calculated?
TISC calculates your ATAR from your TEA u2014 the sum of your best four scaled scores out of 400. Maths Methods and Specialist also earn a 10% TEA bonus. Your ATAR ranks you against all school-leaving aged people in WA.
When is the external exam?
SCSA external examinations are held October-November each year. Check senior-secondary.scsa.wa.edu.au for confirmed dates.
Can I access past WACE papers?
