What is the SA Ignite Program?
The SA Ignite Program is a specialised accelerated learning program for gifted students at three SA government high schools - Glenunga International, The Heights and Aberfoyle Park. Entry is via the ACER HAST written exam followed by a school interview.
Can my child sit the exam more than once?
No. The SA Ignite ACER HAST can only be sat ONCE. Students who sit in Year 6 cannot resit in Year 7. This makes preparation especially important.
How many mock exams are included?
8 full-length mock exams covering all 4 HAST sections: Reading Comprehension (~35q, ~40min), Written Expression (2 tasks, ~25min each), Mathematical Reasoning (~35q, ~40min) and Abstract Reasoning (~35q, ~30min).
How long does my child have access?
12 months unlimited access. Retake quizzes as many times as you like. Progress saved automatically.
Is there an interview?
Yes. After the written HAST, students who perform strongly are invited to an interview at each Ignite school they applied to. The interview is part of the selection process. This course includes an interview preparation guide.
What is the ACER HAST?
The ACER Higher Ability Selection Test (HAST) is the written component of Ignite selection, developed by ACER. It covers Reading Comprehension, Written Expression, Mathematical Reasoning and Abstract Reasoning at a difficulty level 1-2 years above the student's current year.
Which schools offer the Ignite program?
Three SA government schools offer the Ignite program: Glenunga International High School (~100 places), The Heights School (~60 places) and Aberfoyle Park High School (~50 places). Students may apply to multiple schools.
Welcome to your SA Ignite Mock Exam Pack! Important: the real Ignite ACER HAST can only be sat once. Work through all the guide and skills sections before attempting your first mock. Use every mock to simulate real exam conditions. Need help? Email admin@australianedu.au or WhatsApp +61-455-123-450.
