How is QCE Accounting Units 3 & 4 assessed?
Units 3 & 4 are assessed via three Internal Assessments (IA1, IA2, IA3 u2014 worth 75% combined) plus one External Assessment (EA) set by QCAA, worth 25%.
What is the GST Clearing account for?
GST Clearing is a current liability account used to net off GST collected on sales against GST paid on purchases u2014 GST-inclusive amount u00f7 11 gives the GST component.
How many IAs and EAs are there?
There are three IAs across Unit 3 and Unit 4 (a project and two exams/combination responses), plus one externally-set EA covering both units.
What does the External Assessment (EA) cover?
The EA is a QCAA-set combination response: 10 multiple-choice questions (10 marks) plus short/extended response questions (50 marks), totalling 60 marks.
How is my ATAR calculated from QCE results?
Your QCE result feeds into your ATAR via QTAC scaling based on your school-assessed and externally-assessed results across your best 5 General subjects.
How many subjects should I study?
Most students study 5-6 subjects. ATAR eligibility requires at least 5 General subjects including English and Maths. Your school's QCE coordinator can advise.
How does QCE differ from HSC and VCE?
QCE IAs are worth up to 75% vs 50% in HSC. QCE uses a 0-100 raw score vs HSC Band 1-6 and VCE study score 0-50. QCE results are scaled by QTAC, HSC by UAC, VCE by VTAC.
