Read 20+ minutes daily — fiction, quality non-fiction, poetry. Practise active reading: after each paragraph, ask ‘What is the author doing here?’ For exam practice, always locate evidence in the text before selecting.
Write one short response every 2–3 days: any prompt, 10–12 minutes, by hand. Focus on opening sentences and endings first. Read one model response per week and notice what it does differently.
Do 10 pattern questions per day. Work through number sequences, ratios, spatial problems. Write every step. Speed comes from method confidence, not rushing.
Do 10 abstract questions per day with focus on accuracy before speed. Always identify which of the 6 properties (number, shading, rotation, size, position, shape type) is the rule. Reduce time gradually.
