The improvement loop
  • Identify: Which question types and topics cost the most marks?
  • Target: Return to the unit guide. Rewrite wrong answers from scratch without looking at the model.
  • Practice: Attempt the next mock pack after two targeted revision sessions.
  • Track: Record your total score each time.

Study Score Targets

Excellent SAC performance Full marks or near-full marks on journal entries + 3-sentence explanations + complete financial statements
Good SAC performance Accurate journals; explanation questions address concept and scenario; statements mostly correct
Needs work Focus on journal entry rules first, then accounting concepts, then financial statements
The students who perform best in VCE Accounting are those who practise writing journal entries and explanation answers regularly throughout the year — not just before SACs.
