What parents need to know

Registering Through Your School

Most students sit ICAS through their school. Schools register and pay fees on behalf of students. Contact your child’s classroom teacher or school office to ask whether your school participates in ICAS and which subjects are offered.

Registering Independently (Testing Centres)

If your school does not participate, families can register directly through an ICAS Authorised Testing Centre. Testing centres operate across all Australian states and territories, New Zealand and Singapore.

✅ Whether sitting through school or a testing centre, students sit the same ICAS Paper Introductory — the same questions, same time limits, ranked against the same national pool of students.

Which Subjects Can Year 2 Sit?

📚 English
➕ Mathematics
🔬 Science

Year 2 students are not eligible for Writing or Digital Technologies — those begin from Year 3 (Paper A).
